Recently, thanks to the generosity of a donor, The Mercy Ministries' staff members were able to create and print a Matters of the Heart pamphlet that will be available to Mercy Medical Clinic patients. Eventually, we would like to provide all of our patients with one of these pamplets, but, for now, we only had enough money to print 100. This week, they will be going in our "Grad Bags" that we distribute to a patient once that patient has achieved wellness, gained employment, and also obtained insurance. It is always a bittersweet experience when a patient "graduates" from their temporary need for Mercy, but we're also so happy to see them moving towards a happier, healthier life!
We wanted to give our graduates a gift that would minister to their souls, as well as help them move forward in other areas of life. In the red bags, printed with Mercy's logo, the patients will receive a Bible (we need more of them, by the way!), a bookmark, a track, a Toombs County resource pamphlet, instructions on how to best fill their medications, and our Matters of the Heart pamphlet.
The pamphlet includes:
-- How To Know God Personally & Receive Christ's Invitation
-- The Importance of Community by Clint Hutcheson
-- It's Okay To Hurt by Casey Hutcheson
-- God Is Love by Jessica Thursby
-- Trusting In The Faithfulness of The Father by Sissy Warnock
-- and it includes a list of local churches for a new Christian to reach out to to call home.
