Lend A Hand.
Make A Difference.
Local people helping local people.
That's what it says on the local United Way flyer, and they mean it.
Did you know 99% of every dollar donated to the Toombs-Montgomery-Wheeler County United Way is used to benefit Toombs-Montgomery-Wheeler County organizations, such as The Mercy Ministries?
The local United Way supports Crisis & Emergency Services, Rehabilitation & Special Education Services, Youth Development Programs, Senior Citizen Care, and it strives to help strengthen individuals and families throughout the community. They provide year-round financial support for twenty-six local human-service member agencies.
This year, United Way will be hosting it's annual Kick-Off Event in an effort to share money raised, and project this year's fundraising goal. All are invited to attend.

One sweet story that came about due to local support of The Mercy Ministries is the story of one of Mercy's patients, Lewis...
Lewis, a Mercy patient since Nov. 2016, lost his legs due to uncontrolled diabetes. In a state of hopelessness, Lewis grudgingly came to his most recent medical appointment. Clint, Mercy pastor and Mercy U Director, recognized this man’s need for mental/emotional help.
Immediately, Clint set up a meeting with Lewis and former Mercy patient, Jésus (who received prosthetic legs a couple years ago through Mercy). The two hit it off instantly and Jésus was able to share his story of regaining his dignity and his life. Lewis left that day renewed and determined to fight his depression. Not only does he have a spouse to take care of, but a 3 year old granddaughter, of whom he will soon have guardianship.
Supporters like you are helping people like Lewis, get better physically, spiritually and mentally! Thank you!
