7. So, you've always wanted to try something, but you tell yourself you don't have the stamina or talent to achieve it. You're not alone. Most of us shy away from many things we'd like to do because we think, "Hey, if it doesn't come easy, then it must not be meant for me to do it." However, that thought process is a lie, and it will hold you back from success!
Many, in fact most, of the best jobs I've ever had I got because I'm a firm believer in the "fake it till you make it" mentality. Whatever I lack in talent or experience, I make up for it by diving head first into a new challenge and learning all I can about that field. I give these challenges 110% effort, even though I often have no idea what I'm doing, and I've really surprised myself as I've learned I've yet to find anything I cannot do (except for higher Math, Science and Statistics ... I will leave that to the professionals! Haha!).
"'If I had any talent, this would be much easier. I'm not cut out for this.'
When you start your project, you discover it's a steep uphill struggle to get where you want. You make it mean you're lacking in some wway, that maybe you should aim a little lower or try something easier. Don't buy into this mindset. Anything you do will get easier the more you do it! Persistence and not talent is the secret to success, so stick to it. Keep working at it and eventually you'll find yourself at the top of that hill."

If your life was a stained-glass window in a church, what story would you want it to tell? Do you want it to be of a man or woman who took the easy road, or of a person who overcame great odds? The choice is ours to make!
