The Oaks Baptist Hosts Mercy's 2018 Patient Christmas Party!

December 10, 2018

Sadly, I could not be at this year's 2018 Mercy Patient Christmas Party.  However, I have heard nothing but good things about the food, fellowship and the fun had by all who attended ... including patients and their families.

Interim Pastor, Ron Gilreath, began the evening by thanking everyone who attended, saying a blessing over the food, and then introduced Mercy's Executive Director, Carly Benton.

Benton shared her heart for Mercy's patients and the ministry as it looks forward into 2019, being sure to give thanks for how good God has been over the past 2018!  She then introduced Mercy University Director, Clint Hutcheson, who gave an uplifting word for the season.  After speaking, Hutcheson gave an alter call, and three patients came forward with prayer requests.

Taking it all in, the next day, Benton shared on her personal Facebook page, "I just love my job; thank you Lord! Yesterday I drove to ATL to pick up some money for The Mercy Ministries' dental clinic from the Ga. Health Foundation. I spent my lunch chatting with non-profit leaders (mostly from the metro-ATL area) that help thousands of veterans, abused children, disabled adolescents and adults, pregnant women, etc. get access to healthcare and wellness for physical, mental and emotional healing. I was in awe (and the only one there with a southern accent)! Last night I got the privilege of just hanging out with some of our Mercy patients at our annual Patient, Christmas Party hosted this year by The Oaks Baptist Church. It was so much fun and such a blessing to me! Then this morning, I had the opportunity to just randomly pray with a service man that dropped by the clinic to check our fiber lines. It was a God thing! Some times I am just way to busy to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit's prompting and/or to enjoy the blessings the Lord has given me... and its a shame; but yesterday, I was soaking it in and sending up prayers of thanks."

I must add, from my heart and the hearts of all here at Mercy, a huge thanks to The Oaks Baptist Church of Lyons!!!

The Oaks served a wonderful meal and provided a loving atmosphere for our patients to celebrate Jesus in this Christmas season!
