MU Graduates First of 2019 Class!

March 8, 2019

Mercy University's (MU) Faith & Finance classes were off to a great start this past January, and to those who graduated it was a great end to what is their new beginning on Thursday, March 7th.  The graduation ceremony was held at the Student Center of Vidalia First Baptist Church, and we couldn't be more grateful to the church for letting The Mercy Ministries (TMM) use their beautiful space!

"God is making all things new... including our finances," a recent graduate, Rachel, said.

It is in this spirit of embracing a new, healthier way to manage finances these graduates started off 2019 on the right foot.  For some, it has been life changing.  As Clint Hutcheson, Director of MU handed out graduation certificates, some of the graduates shared what this class has meant to them.

Charles Yawn, a 2019 Faith & Finance class graduate, said, "The Mercy Ministries is a jewel in this community. To have the chance to take the Faith & Finance class with my wife [Rebekah] meant a lot. We had talked it over, taking a finance class together, years ago, and thankful to God and Clint ... and especially The Mercy Ministries! We would highly recommend this class and we thoroughly enjoyed it!"

Clarence Best, another graduate, added, "This class brought back some things I'd been taught, but hadn't really been applying to my life. I agree that [TMM] is a jewel to this community. My wife [Regina] and I have paid a few bills and have been able to look at things from a different perspective. Clint is a great teacher!"

The evening had been opened in prayer by Mercy Board Member, Vanessa Hill, and a word from Carly Benton, Director of The Mercy Ministries.  It was closed by a final word from Hutcheson.

"If you keep working these Faith & Finance principles, and apply them to your lives, you will gain financial progress each day.  It will work for you, and God will honor your due diligence," Hutcheson said. "Our new classes start April 1st.  I hope you will encourage family and friends to participate!"

April 1st day classes and April 2nd evening classes are just $20 per person, or just $10 per person for couples.  Some parents take the class with their children, sharing a workbook, for just $10 each, as well.  Couples and duos are really thriving in this class as they bring their whole family into living a more financially peaceful life.  Also, all students are fed a meal at each class, donated by the valued volunteers of TMM.  We're all working towards healthier families, and a healthier community.  Together, we really are making a huge difference!
