Where Does Wisdom Come From?

April 11, 2019

Did you know this week is "Counseling Awareness Month"?

The Mercy Ministries (TMM) believes in a holistic approach to healthcare, working towards wholeness in an individual through not only physical and financial prosperity, but also through emotional and spiritual richness.

We currently have two volunteer counselors at the Lyons, GA campus who we appreciate so very much for their consistent love and wisdom they share with patients.  However, we are in need of more counselors.  At the moment about 100 of our 500 patients are on a counseling waiting list!

Why is counseling so important?  This blog couldn't have said it better! Yet, we also see how a person gets better, and stays better longer when they have spiritual and emotional support.

Louise Anderson (above) is a happily married woman and mother of two grown daughters who retired from working as a psychologist in the prison system. She attends Vidalia Church of God and keeps everyone at TMM on our toes! Recently, she was awarded the Mercy Volunteer of the Year award at TMM's quarterly volunteer appreciation event.

Joe Claroni (right) is Mercy’s newest volunteer, and we are so very excited to have him on board as a volunteer counselor! He worked as a Physician’s Assistant for 37 years, and as a Psychiatric Physician’s Assistant for an additional 15 years before retiring in 2015. He’s been a Catholic deacon since 1985, has served as a Chaplain at Meadows Health, has been involved in prison ministry.  Though a more recent  member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Vidalia, he has been married for 48 years.  And, he also enjoys amateur photography and walking his dog.  When asked why he was interested in putting his Psychology degree to work with TMM, he replied, “God has given me with motivation and a desire to help and be of service to others. Matthew 25: Whatsoever you do to the least of my people you do for Me … hungry and you fed me, sick and you ministered to me…”

So check out that blog and forget not this wisdom:
